Title: Certified Psychological Assistant (CPA)
Summary: Under the supervision of a Chief Clinical Officer, administers and scores psychological tests, performs behavioral observations, assesses symptomology and provides interpretation of test results for children, youth and adult clients. Assists with testing and data collection for agency projects.
Qualifications: Master’s in Psychology or a related field, Credentialed as a CPA in the State of Tennessee. Valid TN driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. One year of experienced with Psychological Assessment preferred. Training in proper crisis prevention initiatives and universal precautions required.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Ability to evaluate assigned clients using Psychometric measures, including but not limited to Intellectual, personality, ability, affective conditions, motivation, interest, needs, emotional intelligence, etc.
- Ability to gather information from multiple sources and make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Ability to Interview clients and determine their strengths, needs, deficits and limitations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including but not limited to sitting, driving, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to manage data and electronic equipment and services; e. laptop, smartphone, email, web browser portals, Microsoft 365 products, etc.
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to understand and be sensitive to cultural and demographic differences.
Duties & Responsibilities/Principal Activities:
- Travel to client homes or designated community locations to perform evaluations throughout Tennessee and Southern Kentucky
- Conduct psychological evaluations of clients using an array of assessment techniques and instruments, including but not limited to a review of psychosocial history, mental status exam, clinical interview and use of standardized assessments.
- Score Psychological Assessments and provide a summary of assessment results and diagnostic suppositions to the Clinical Supervisor.
- In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor, complete a Psychological Report which meets all documentation requirements necessary for billing purposes, answers all referral questions, and justifies Diagnostic decisions.
- Conduct a summary face to face or telehealth debriefing with assessed clients following the determination of Diagnostic condition and Service Recommendations.
- Complete all continuing education requirements to maintain CPA status.
- Comply with all TNV Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with Federal Confidentiality Law to protect the rights of the clients.
- All other duties as appropriate and as needed for the success of assigned clients not specifically denoted within this Job description.
- Conform to CARF standards as applicable.
Title: Family Support Specialist in the Courts
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma- Certified Family Support Specialist (CFSS) preferred. Parent/caregiver or legal guardian of child with mental health diagnosis required. Personal experience with children’s mental health issues and in navigating child-serving systems.
Non-profit organization experience and work history within child serving systems preferred, including but not exclusive of juvenile justice, protective services, or other child serving systems.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Knowledge of the service area and of resources for children with mental health issues.
- Knowledge and personal experience with children who have behavioral disorders.
- Knowledge and experience with the juvenile justice, educational, and other child-serving systems.
- Desire to help and support parents of children with SED, with strong customer service skills.
- Commitment to system of care principles, cultural competency & effective teamwork.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving/creative thinking skills.
- Established support system and access to resources.
- Basic computer and writing skills.
Duties & Responsibilities/Principal Activities:
- Assists the family in navigating various child-serving systems and in connecting with resources.
- Assists the family in navigating the juvenile justice and court systems.
- Assists assigned families in securing both formal & informal supports to meet the family’s needs.
- Assists families/caregivers to develop attainable goals that help the child function better in the home, school, and community through promoting and modeling system of care.
- Ensures that required paperwork is completed as instructed in the assigned time frame.
- Completes and disseminates service plan to client and family.
- Schedules meetings and provides client with date, time & location.
- Partners with family in identifying and overcoming barriers/service gaps.
- Monitors the progress of the Service Plan as the primary contact person for completion of tasks.
- Models and teaches effective advocacy skills, provides caregiver active support and regular visits.

Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Young adult with personal experience in navigating the system through the transitional years preferred. Non-profit organization experience and work history within child serving systems preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Experience in special education and children’s mental health gained by navigating the mental health, education, and other child serving systems, as well as knowledge of accessing services in the adult system
- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to establish rapport with youth and families as well as work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Possess the ability and desire to learn new skills to include cultural competency, special education policies, procedures, and rights, addressing the needs of transition age youth
- Effective self-care and independent living strategies
- Strength-based interventions and positive reinforcement
- Possess listening skills and organizational skills including maintaining records/documentation, basic computer skills, and time management skills
Duties & Responsibilities/Principal Activities:
- Assisting youth with obtaining services, service coordination and overcoming barriers to accessing services
- Provide advocacy, support and information for youth within the mental health, education, juvenile/adult criminal justice, child welfare and other systems
- Facilitate and participate in Child and Family Team meetings as necessary
- Assist youth and families to develop attainable goals that help the youth function better in the home, school and community and/or transition successfully to independent living in the community
- Help youth and families to navigate both the child-serving and adult systems
- Link youth to community resources that help the youth to function better in their home, school and community and/or transition successfully to independent living in the community
- Accurate and timely documentation in the client database
- Assisting youth and caregivers through the process of their youth transitioning to adulthood
- Educating youth, caregivers, professionals and community members on mental illness
- Represent youth and family voice at community meetings/school meetings
- Maintain up-to-date case records on each client family, including weekly, daily, contact reports, service agreements, evaluations, assessments, and termination summaries
- Ensure that we conform to CARF standards applicable to the services provided
- Willingness to learn CareLogic, 24 Daily Living, and other pertinent programs
- Other duties and/or tasks as assigned
